Tips for Cooking Crepe Pancakes
Here are some tips for cooking crepe-style pancakes:
- Low Heat and Non-Stick Pan: Maintain a low heat setting on your stove and utilize a high-quality non-stick pan. This ensures even cooking and prevents sticking.
- Exercise Patience: Avoid the temptation to flip the pancakes too early. Allow them to cook undisturbed until the edges begin to lift slightly. For reference, an electric hob setting around 4 (with 9 being the highest) worked well.
- Use Spray Oil: Apply a light coating of spray oil (one without emulsifiers) to the pan before cooking each pancake. This helps prevent sticking without adding excess fat, ensuring smooth flipping.
- Swift Swirling: Act swiftly once the batter hits the pan, swiftly swirling it around to achieve a thin, even layer. This technique is crucial for creating delicate, crepe-style pancakes with a uniform thickness.
By following these tips, you'll be able to master the art of cooking crepe-style pancakes, achieving perfect results every time.

Carolyn says
Hi, I tried this recipe but it did not work. The mixture just heated up in the pan but didn't Cook, please could you give me some pointers.
Shevy (Slimming Eats) says
Sounds like you may of been trying to flip it too soon, just gently try and lift from the edge, if it doesn't life easily, you know it isn't ready to be flipped, so leave a bit longer. Also a good quality non stick pan is a must. Hope that helps
Carolyn Slyfield says
In the end I left it for 20 mins and it still didn't Cook.
Shevy (Slimming Eats) says
No idea why they are not working for you then I'm afraid . I have made them several times now with no issue. I've had lots of members tag me with their pics of them on Instagram and Facebook too. Maybe your heat is too low if it isn't cooking . Have you got a good quality non stick pan and are you following the measurements exactly?
Shevy (Slimming Eats) says
I'll try and get a video posted of them step by step soon. Perhaps that will help you see where you are going wrong.
Nicola says
Can't believe the other person said they wouldn't cook, of course they will cook, so yummy.

I'm trying these for dinner tonight with loads of fresh fruit and maybe a few squirts (synned of course) of golden syrup. Thank you for yet another brilliant recipe.
Joan says
Could I use toffee yogurt instead of vanilla
Shevy (Slimming Eats) says
You can but just be aware that it may give an overpowering flavour
Lesley Robinson says
Hi. I tried these but they stuck to the pan. Is it my pan or am I trying to cook them on too high.
Shevy (Slimming Eats) says
it could be either, a good non stick pan is definitely needed, but you also don't want the heat too high, try not to flip until the underside is fully set.
Chrissy says
Could I replace the yogurt with milk from my HEA?
Shevy (Slimming Eats) says
you can but you may need to use a little less.
Emma fisher says
