Delicious Tangy Paprika Balsamic Chicken Drumsticks - perfect summer food for barbecues, picnics or salads.

As soon as the weather starts to warm up, I often add a tray of chicken drumsticks to the shopping cart.
The kids love them and they are a perfect portable food if we are having a day out and a good source of protein.
Sometimes though you can be stuck for flavouring or spices to coat them in and this simple marinade is one that the whole family will love.

Yummy paprika, paired with tangy balsamic vinegar and a little maple syrup or honey creates the perfect sticky sauce, that is perfect for oven baking or grilling.

How can I add a ⅓ veg (healthy vegetables) to these Paprika Chicken Drumsticks?
The beauty of these Paprika Chicken Drumsticks is that they will go with various different sides, so you have a huge choice of healthy vegetables you could pick to go alongside these.
I served with some sauteed chickpeas which I seasoned with a little cumin and salt, which were lightly browned in a pan with some spray oil, so the perfect vegetables to go with this was a nice mixed salad containing the following:
- Crisp Lettuce
- Radishes
- Julienned Carrot (use my julienne peeler)
- Tomatoes
- Baby Cucumber
You don't need to go for cold sides though, roasted vegetables or even steamed or sauteed would pair well with these two and if you need some inspiration, check out my sides recipes
