Treat yourself to this yummy festive Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate - a perfect decadent drink that the whole family will love.
This time of year pretty much everywhere features a candy cane flavoured or inspired item on the menu and our local Tim Hortons has both hot chocolate and doughnuts to choose from which the kids absolutely love.
Unfortunately, they are not too friendly on the calories, so I figured how hard can it be to create a low calorie festive Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate, that we can enjoy at home, and oh boy is this good.
Of course, if you hate all things mint flavoured, you might want to browse away into my FULL RECIPE INDEX where you will find over 850+ delicious Slimming Recipes to choose from and they are all fully searchable by meal type, ingredients value etc.

But if you do love all things peppermint, then you will just love this creamy minty Candy Cane Hot Chocolate, it's such a pretty treat to make for the family too. The first one of these I made I didn't even get a look in, my kids grabbed the first one and then I was smart enough to make a double batch the second time, to finally get my own mug to enjoy.
I recommend serving these in glass mugs, just so that you can see the pretty layers, but any mug you have will work fine.
One ingredient you will need is some Options White Hot Chocolate as shown below:
But don't worry if this is not available where you live, a low calories regular hot chocolate works fine too. It just won't be white. It's still just as pretty and equally delicious.
As well as the hot chocolate the other special ingredient is Peppermint Candy Canes, so grab some up while you can, as they are available pretty much everywhere this time of year. I used 5 mini ones for this entire recipe that serves 2, so if using a full size one, you perhaps will only need 1 for a single serving of this Candy Cane White Chocolate. Just use an amount that is of similar value.
If you can't find them instore anywhere, then Amazon is your best place to look.
Ensure they are peppermint candy canes that you use and not fruit flavoured ones, otherwise, you are going to end up with a fruit flavoured white hot chocolate.
