Ingredients Notes
To make this recipe you will need the following ingredients:
- Reduced Fat Cream Cheese: This gives the dip its rich, creamy base. Let it soften a little first so it blends more easily.
- Reduced Fat Soured Cream: Adds a tangy flavour and helps loosen the cream cheese for a smoother, lighter dip.
- Fresh Pineapple: Brings a fresh, juicy sweetness that pairs really well with the heat from the jalapeños. Finely chop so you get a little in every bite.
- Spring Onions: Adds a mild onion flavour and a bit of freshness to balance the creamy base.
- Pickled Jalapeños: Finely chopped pickled jalapeños add a nice kick of heat to the dip. If you can get the sweeter style of pickled jalapeños they work especially well here with the pineapple, but regular pickled jalapeños are absolutely fine too.
- Salt and Black Pepper: Essential for bringing all the flavours together. Adjust to taste once everything is mixed.
- Maple Syrup: Enhances the sweetness slightly and helps balance the tangy and spicy flavours.
- Pineapple Juice :Just a small splash helps loosen the dip to your preferred consistency while adding even more pineapple flavour.
Once you've gathered all the ingredients and prepared them accordingly, you're all set to create this easy and delightful recipe.
See the recipe card for specific quantities and instructions.

Variations and Substitutes
You can easily tweak this dip depending on what you have on hand or the flavour you prefer.
- Add cooked bacon: A little chopped cooked bacon adds a lovely salty, smoky flavour.
- Stir through some cheddar: some grated cheddar makes it a bit more savoury and cheesy.
- Make it spicier: Add a little extra pickled jalapeño or a spoonful of the pickling juice for more heat and tang.
- Use Greek yoghurt: Swap the fat free soured cream for fat free Greek yoghurt for a similar creamy, tangy finish.
- Try red onion or fresh chilli: Red onion can be used instead of regular onion, and fresh jalapenos can be used in place of pickled jalapeños if needed.
- Add extra crunch or freshness: A little chopped red pepper, extra spring onion or some fresh coriander all work well.
- Make it more fruity: Add more pineapple or you can even swap for chopped mango.
How to Serve Jalapeño Pineapple Dip
This dip is great served chilled straight from the fridge and works really well as part of a snacky lunch, party spread or light appetiser. I love to add it to a picky plate for lunch with lots of bits for dipping, and it's also perfect spooned into a small bowl for sharing.
For dipping, tortilla chips are always a great choice, but it also works really well with ridged crisps, crackers, pitta chips (try these crispy cheddar pita chips, pretzels or toasted flatbreads. If you want some lighter options, serve it with cucumber sticks, carrot batons, celery, sliced peppers or cherry tomatoes. It's also delicious as a little side dip with wraps, sandwiches or burgers.

How to Store
Store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Give it a good stir before serving, as it may loosen slightly or separate a little as it sits.
Because of the creamy base and fresh pineapple, this dip is best enjoyed fresh and I wouldn't recommend freezing.
