Oh how I love a bowl of this Sweet Potato Mash.
Normally when you think of mashed potato of any kind you just can not imagine it without lots of butter and milk or cream.
Surprisingly though, this Sweet Potato Mash needs neither. Sweet Potato is flavorsome just as it is with a bit of seasoning and is a great alternative to regular white potatoes.
It's probably no surprise that I love my sweet potatoes, you will find dozens of recipes using this delicious vegetable here: Sweet Potato Recipes
I just find it such a versatile ingredient to use and it tastes amazing. It's great for adding a natural sweetness to dishes too.
For this sweet potato mash, I just cook it in some stock till fork tender and then drain (reserving a teeny bit of the stock) and mash, season with black pepper (and a little salt if needed). That's all it needs and it tastes amazing.
I love it with casseroles, meat or fish dishes or even for a topping for things like shepherd's pie.
My favorite dish to serve it with is my Slow Cooked Sweet Onion Braised Beef - together it's just perfect.
This Sweet Potato Mash is also gluten free, dairy free, paleo, Whole30 and vegetarian friendly.
