But recently when at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.costco.ca\">Costco<\/a>,<\/strong> they had some reasonably priced Wild Sockeye Salmon Fillets, and with salmon being one of my favourite fishes, it of course ended up in my cart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can I use Frozen Salmon?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most salmon here is previously frozen, generally because I don't live anywhere near the sea. So frozen salmon should be fine to use in this recipe. Just make sure you pick good quality frozen salmon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When using frozen salmon you can generally cook from frozen or defrost overnight in the fridge. But I also use <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.traderjoes.com\">Trader Joes<\/a> <\/strong>brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Finishing Salmon under the broil or Grill<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as baking the salmon in the oven. I also like to finish it off under the broil (grill) for a minute or so, it just helps give a nice golden colour to the mayo and mustard topping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's of course totally optional, you can enjoy it just as it is from the oven, as it won't really make any difference to flavour. You can simple just go for some vegetables if you are trying to stick to a low calories meal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sauteed Spinach and Sauted Spiralized Vegetables is one of my favourite choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if you want some more traditional sides. Then I love it with either<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/garlic-and-herb-roast-potatoes\">Garlic and Herb Roasted Potatoes<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/syn-free-extra-crispy-potatoes\">Crispy Golden Potatoes<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/crushed-roast-potatoes\">Crushed Roast Potatoes<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/roasted-butternut-squash-paprika\">Roasted Paprika Butternut Squash<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>and then for some vegetables I love roasted zucchini (courgette). I just spray with olive oil cooking oil spray, season with salt and black pepper and roast at 425f for about 15 until softened and lightly caramelized.
