{"id":5368,"date":"2012-09-02T20:45:19","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T00:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/?p=5368"},"modified":"2024-04-03T15:43:06","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T20:43:06","slug":"red-swiss-chard-and-potato-bake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/red-swiss-chard-and-potato-bake","title":{"rendered":"Red Swiss Chard and Potato Bake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_0095.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0095\" title=\"DSC_0095\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Throw My Hands Up in the Air; font-size: large;\"><u><strong>Red Swiss Chard and Potato Bake<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: Segoe Print; font-size: small;\">Slimming Eats Recipe<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Serves 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Ingredients<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>600g of potatoes (I used yukon golds), peeled a cut into chunks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>400g of sweet potato, peeled and cut into chunks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bunch of red swiss chard, roughly chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>garlic pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sprinkling of paprika<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>200ml of vegetable stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>zest of lemon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frylight or Pam spray<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Method<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat oven to 200c of 400f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place the white potato in a steamer above boiling hot water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_1227.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1227\" title=\"DSC_1227\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Steam for approx 5 mins, until slightly soft. (you still want them a little firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add to a oven proof dish with the sweet potato, sprinkle with some salt, garlic pepper, paprika and spray over the top with some Frylight or Pam spray. Give the potatoes a shake to evenly coat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_1230.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1230\" title=\"DSC_1230\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Place in the oven to bake until lightly golden (approx 30 mins).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_1285.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1285\" title=\"DSC_1285\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Remove the potatoes from the dish and set to the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place the swiss chard in the oven proof dish and pour over the stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_0002.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0002\" title=\"DSC_0002\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the potato back to the dish and add a little zest from a fresh lemon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_0007.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0007\" title=\"DSC_0007\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Place back in the oven a bake for&nbsp; an additional 15 mins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"DSC_0090\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/DSC_0090.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0090\" width=\"464\" height=\"329\" border=\"0\">,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is great served alongside a main of your choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #008000;\">The recipe above has been calculated for Slimming, however for those of you following the Weight Watchers plan or another calorie controlled type diet.
