{"id":2895,"date":"2011-01-23T16:13:40","date_gmt":"2011-01-23T20:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/quick-hummus-lunch-with-crispy-whole-wheat-toast"},"modified":"2024-04-03T13:48:40","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T18:48:40","slug":"hummus-with-crispy-whole-wheat-toast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/hummus-with-crispy-whole-wheat-toast","title":{"rendered":"Hummus with Crispy Whole Wheat Toast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I absolutely love hummus and my favorite kind is one I can get here which has sweet potato in it, I don't buy it too often as I can't often find it stocked, but when I do, I just have to treat myself to some.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So today I made myself a quick and yummy lunch<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"717\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSC_0787-Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-skip-lazy class=\"wp-image-2897\" title=\"DSC_0787 (Small)\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSC_0787-Small.jpg 717w, https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSC_0787-Small-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSC_0787-Small-560x375.jpg 560w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 717px) 100vw, 717px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Serves 1<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2oz\/60g of whole wheat bread<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>serving of <strong><span style=\"color: #874149;\"><a style=\"color: #874149;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingeats.com\/blog\/roasted-sweet-potato-hummus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roasted&nbsp;Sweet Potato Hummus<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">some raw carrot sticks (but you can use any raw veggies you like really, celery of cucumber is great too).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Olive Oil Frylight or Pam Spray<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Method<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Portion up some hummus and you raw veggie sticks.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat oven to 190c of 375f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toast the&nbsp;slices of bread in the toaster, but don't over toast it, you want it still a bit soft, as it will toast more in the oven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cut in half diagonally and then using a bread knife, slice through each slice inbetween the toasted outside, so that you now have 6 slices of bread instead of 2. Which ends up lasting much longer&nbsp; than the one slice of bread you started out with \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spray a baking try with some Olive Oil Frylight or Pam Spray, then spray over the top of the bread, place in the oven and bake until crisp.
