Homemade Turkey Breakfast Sausage Patties (Gluten Free)

Delicious Homemade Turkey Breakfast Sausage Patties - tasty simple ingredients and the perfect way to start the day with your choice of eggs or other breakfast sides.

Ingredients

  • 1lb (455g) of extra lean ground turkey
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) of chicken stock
  • 1 tbs of fresh chopped sage
  • 1 tbs of maple syrup (or use brown sugar or honey)
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • pinch of black pepper
  • cooking oil spray (I used avocado)

Instructions

  1. Spray a frying pan over a medium high heat with cooking oil spray.
  2. Add the onion and fry for a few minutes until softened and golden, using the chicken stock to prevent sticking, add a little bit of the stock at a time and keep reducing down until onions are cooked.
  3. Then add in the garlic and chopped sage and fry for a further 30 seconds, just to infused flavour. Set aside to cool.
  4. Add the turkey mince to a bowl, with the sauteed onion mixture, maple syrup, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix till combined.
  5. Form in to 8 equal sized patties.
  6. Heat a frying pan over a medium high heat and spray with cooking oil spray.
  7. Add the patties (4 at a time, don't overcrowd pan) and fry until until golden brown (approx 4 minutes, flip over and repeat on the over side until cooked through. Remove patties and repeat with the remaining 4 patties, once all cooked you can return the other four to the pan to heat up, if serving all at once.
  8. Serve with your choice of sides.
  9. Enjo!!
