What I Ate This Week on Slimming World – Week 4 – My new addition to the blog, where I will share my weekly food diary. This is so much better than just a basic Meal Plan because you will see the food exactly how it was made and enjoyed.
This week wasn't really great, a couple of days out, so meals were not completely on plan and a bit too carb heavy which for me makes weight loss tough.
Next week I'm going to up those speeds foods as much as possible and watch I am not going to carb heavy on the non speed foods and not going over on my daily syn. Fingers crossed I get a loss on the scales next week.
If you struggle to understand the speed foods rule, I recommend taking a read over my post - The Benefit of Speed Foods, it is really helpful for explaining how it works.
Also a little tip of mine is to think Speed Foods before Free Foods.
Here is what I ate this What I Ate This Week on Slimming World – Week 4 starting Monday 28th May 2018:
MONDAY
RECIPES:
- Breakfast: Do you hate using syns on butter for your toast? Line a baking tray with foil, add the bread, spray over the top with spray oil and bake in the oven till nice and golden and crispy. It's heavenly and perfect with eggs
- Lunch: Spicy Sausage and Veggies
- Dinner: Pizza Chicken and Syn Free Chips
TUESDAY
RECIPES:
- Breakfast: For the egg part of the sandwich, I just roughly whisked two eggs and then cooked them in a small pan kind of like an omelette/scrambled egg cross. Perfect for sandwiches like this.
- Lunch: Chicken and Cauliflower Curry
- Dinner: For the roasted veg, I just added to a bowl, seasoning with paprika, garlic powder and salt, sprayed with cooking oil spray, spread out on a tray and roasted at 200c/400f for about 30-40 mins.
WEDNESDAY
RECIPES:
- Breakfast: American Style Pancakes
- Lunch: recipe for the bake coming soon to the blog, in the meantime check out my Spaghetti Squash Bake
- Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese
THURSDAY
Today I was out all day with a friend, so lunch was not strictly on plan. Kept dinner pretty light to try and compensate. Syns are an estimation for lunch as no nutritional info at the place we went.
RECIPES:
- Breakfast: Homemade Healthy Banana Granola
- Lunch: lunch was eaten out today, estimated syns 8
- Dinner: recipe for the bake coming soon to the blog, in the meantime check out my Spaghetti Squash Bake
FRIDAY
RECIPES:
- Breakfast: muffins only qualify for a HEb in US/Canada, so sub with a wholemeal roll or toast
- Lunch: Spaghetti Bolognese
- Dinner: Peri Peri Chicken, Nando's Rice, Coleslaw
SATURDAY
We left the house at 8 am this morning to head to the US for 2 soccers matches my son had. Breakfast was a grab and go which I took with me. Then lunch was eaten out, the salad was humongous and far too much for one person, I took over half of it away with me, which my son finished off later, I only had a little bit of the dressing that came with it and then left the croutons, so that was pretty good. But then I ended up tempted by the amazing seasoned fries everyone else had and so ate some of those too, which has no doubt taken me over my syns for today. Dinner was just a quick grab snack on the way home, as it was quite late by the time we got back. Soccer games are over now though for a few months, so if we do have days out again it will most likely be in Canada where I can plan better and take stuff with me instead.
RECIPES:
- Breakfast: Homemade Healthy Banana Granola
SUNDAY
- Breakfast: to cook the poached eggs, just bring a saucepan of water to a bubbling boil, reduce heat so it no longer bubbles vigorously, then crack egg into a small bowl and carefully lower into water, repeat with other eggs, I never do more than 4 at a time, remove with a slotted spoon. The tomatoes were raw, chopped and drizzled with the balsamic glaze.
- Lunch: Chicken and Cauliflower Curry
- Dinner: Peri Peri Chicken. For the butternut squash frites, you just slice them into really thin chips, season with salt, paprika and spray with cooking oil spray and then bake on a tray at 200c/400f until golden or cook in an Air Fryer. (I used my Nuwave Air Fryer)
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS THIS WEEK: STS
Would of liked a loss, but with the week not strictly on plan it was to be expected, I should at least be happy it isn't a gain.
