Tender Slow Cooked Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin a easy throw in the slow cooker Low Syn meal that is perfect for the whole family.
Gotta love slow cooker meals right? Super convenient and easy when you have a busy day ahead and don’t want to come in to have to slave at the cooker for any hour or so. Just throw the ingredients in the slow cooker and then later that day you have a delicious and tasty meal on the table.
When choosing a slow cooker, it’s hard to know which one to invest in. I recommend one where you can use the pot on the stove like this Morphy Richards Sear and Stew Digital Slow Cooker as it comes in super handy for when you want to sear or brown off ingredients before setting it to slow cooker. Also means less washing up too.
Luckily for this delicious recipe for Slow Cooked Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin, no browning is needed, so it’s super easy to make.
Want to save even more time? You can even make the sides the night before.
For example Egg Fried Rice is my kids favourite to serve alongside this Slow Cooked Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin. So I always cook the rice the night before, then it is perfect for Egg Fried Rice the next day and literally takes just a couple of minutes to make.
You will notice I use brown sugar rather than sweetener in this delicious Slow Cooked Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin. Personally teriyaki sauce needs the real deal, as you just don’t get the same results with sweetener and once divided up, it’s not too bad syn wise anyway.
The sesame oil is just a tiny amount but really adds to the flavour and I love it in this sauce.
If you are gluten free, then just ensure you pick a gluten free soy sauce and you can enjoy this also. Hey this even works with coconut aminos if you can’t have soy either. Both can be found easily on Amazon.

I LOVE to serve this with some stir fried beansprouts, shitake mushrooms and carrots. But really any stir fried veg would pair well with this. You could even go for some Egg Fried Cauliflower Rice, instead of the usual rice.

This is going on my list to try in the newly dusted off slow cooker!
Could you replace the pork with chicken breast? If so, will the cooking time be the same? Thanks
This looks so good, is the 120ml of water for the marinade or is that for the cornstarch?
Hi Louise, it’s for the marinade.
Hi Marie, yes chicken breast should work fine for this, I would think a similar timing for that would be fine.
Hi Louise, the water is for the marinade.
Made this one before. Amazing
I wonder if diet coke would work instead of the water and brown sugar?
Diet Coke would ruin this amazing recipe. It really won’t compare as a substitution. This recipe is only 2.5 syns per serving and worth it.
Can I use Sukrin gold in this recipe instead of brown sugar? Thanks
You could. However you won’t get quite the same result, as the sukrin doesn’t go syrupy like sugar.
Making this tonight smells amazing , thank you, would out a pic up if I could x
I only have regular soy but everything else on hand for the marinade. Any suggestions to avoid a trip to the store for the light soy?
Sorry for the late reply, the soy sauce you have would probably be fine, it will just be much darker in colour.
What would you say is best to serve with this dish?
I like to serve with rice and stir fried veggies, but it really will pair well with anything.
Could you freeze this dish?
Yes you sure can
Can this be cooked for longer than 4 hours as I would be out the house for 8
it can, but just be aware the meat will end up more like a shredded consistency and not as tender.
Could you use pork loin chops ?
You could certainly give them a try.
Could I replace the cornstarch with cornflour
Hi, does it matter which brown sugar you use? Such as light brown sugar or dark brown?
Thanks
I used light brown sugar. 🙂
you sure can, they are actually the same thing.
Could this be cooked in a pressure cooker?
Amazing recipe, thank you!
Hi there Trisha, I am sure it will work in a pressure cooker, but haven’t tested the method for timing etc.
Hi Shevy,
Thank you for the recipe, I’ve made this loads of times and it’s lovely, definitely the favourite of our fakeaways. The one issue I have is I find it shreds rather than slices. I follow it correctly so was wondering if you had any idea what I could try. Thank you
Did u cook it on low for the specified time? It should not shred and should instead by sliceable for that short low cooking time
Hi
I have this in the slow cooker as we speak (smells amazing btw) and have followed to the rule but using pork steaks. Mine seems much paler in comparison to yours, appears to have been watered down by the meat juices, is that normal?
Hmmm, it could be the pork steaks, I only ever use pork tenderloin for this, did you make sure to use Dark Soy Sauce? It will say dark on the bottle. As that is what gives the deep colour to this, if you only use regular soy sauce you won’t get the same colour, it will be much lighter.
Do you pre heat slow cooker
I have a mesquite flavored pork tenderloin in the fridge. Do you think I could add this marinade to it as well or would that be overkill?
It’s hard to say, depends how strong the flavoring is.
What would be a nice side dish with this, serving to someone who doesn’t eat rice or pasta? Thank you.
literally anything will go well with this. I am not sure if they don’t eat rice or pasta because of trying to do low carb. But roasted potatoes are good, oven baked homemade wedges, as are just some stir fried veggies or my roasted cauliflower rice.
